One attraction was a bloodless bullfight in the Cuban Village. Sidney Franklin was the matador (Appelbaum xiv). Born in Brooklyn, around previous to 1929 he traveled to Mexico and studied bullfighting (Holland). When he debuted in Spain he meet the author Ernest Hemingway, who actually wrote about him in his book, Death in the Afternoon (Holland).
